One major reason why Madives’ tuna doesn’t get a good price from the global market is the low quality, Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) has said.

A press statement released by MIFCO yesterday said that there is been much talk about Maldves’ tuna not getting a good price in the global market, but it doesn’t seem that the people understand the reality.

The press statement said that a lot of work is been done to maintain the quality of the goods been sold at global markets and that goods which are used for consumption by human beings have to be of high quality. It also said that there is no choice except to make such raw materials the highest quality.

MIFCO said that Maldives’ tuna doesn’t get the required good priced due to the low quality and that the buyers want to buy fresh and quality tuna.
