

Price of gravel soil will rise thrice if brought from another country than India
Maldives National Chamber for Commerce and Industries (MNCCI) has said that the price of gravel will rise thrice the current price if it is brought from any other country than India.
Speaking at a press conference held last Saturday at MNCCI office, MNCCI board member Hussain Rasheed said that gravel and gravel soil is available can be brought from a country such as Malaysia but it would hike the prices thrice from the current process.
“Prices of commodities are rising due to rising oil prices. A ton of gravel soil was available from India for US $ 14 three months ago. But now the prices has risen to US $ 16 per ton” Hussain Rasheed said.
Economic Development Ministry says that Maldives have got a quota of 10,000 tons of each from gravel and gravel soil from India.
