Victory Sports Club Coach Ali Suzain has said that they are in a good position to win the league and that all the teams will challenge with VB sports club who currently tops the league table.

“At the moment, all the teams competing in the league has the opportunity to challenge VB. Kalhaidhoo is at the bottom of the league table, but still they are giving a good fight. We have a good chance as are a single point behind VB” Suzain said.

Speaking in the post news conference after beating Kalhaidhoo, Suzain said that the primary objective of playing the match was achieved although they failed to achieve the next hoped objective.

“The first thing we wanted was to win. As a coach, I wanted Fazeel (Oppo) to score one or two goals. He couldn’t do it. But I am happy satisfied with his performance” said the Victory head coach.

According to Suzain, the poor performance in the first half was due to complacency of players.

“Players took the match too easily. But once Kalhaidhoo scored a goal, the team got organized and increased the temp” said Suzain.

“We were able to dominate in the second half since they (Kalhaidhoo players) were very tired. It would have been very difficult for us if the players maintained their positions and defended. It was very difficult as their central defense was inside the area” Suzain said.

Suzain revealed that Imran has now started training and expects him to play in the next match.

Shamoon, who manages Kalhaidhoo said that he was happy with the performance.

Victory won the match 2-1
