FAM penalizes Valencia’s Jameel, Shafiu and Fairooz

Football Association of Maldives (FAM) has penalized three players of club Valencia for using abusive language against Referee Ali Adil after the club’s defeat against Victory Sports Club.

Valencia skipper Mohamed Jameel, Shafiu Ahmed and Fairooz Adam has been banned for one match with each player being fined Rf 1000.

FAM revealed yesterday that the incidents were mentioned in the Referee’s report and that the action was taken after the case being probed by the disciplinary committee. Disciplinary committee’s decision says that these players should pay the fine before their next match.

The match which Victory won 4-2 saw Valencia very unhappy with the referee’s decisions.

With the ban, these players will be ineligible to play against Newradient in tomorrow’s match.

In other news, FAM today fined VB sports club with Rf 1000 as 6 of their players were shown yellow card in the match played against Victory on the 25th of May.
