Hulhule Island Hotel (HIH) located at Male’ International Airport has won the World Luxury Hotel Award.

Speaking to the press last Thursday, General Manager of Hulhule Island Hotel Utkarsh Faujdar said, “This is indeed recognition of the par excellence Hulhule Island Hotel has attained by achieving the highest standards in the hospitality industry.” It is a great achievement for the hotel and for Maldives since hotels from 30 different countries participated in the prestigious awards.

“The relentless efforts of the team have been instrumental in bringing this International award of repute to the Republic of Maldives” Utkarsh said.

Hulhule Island Hotel was declared as a winner in the award function held on October 18, 2008 at Cape Town, South Africa.

“Singapore’s Crowne Plaza and South Africa’s Emperor’s Palace were the finalists for the award” said Utkarsh Faujdar.

HIH has won several other awards in the past including Best Culinary establishment award in year 2006 and 2008.
